This month March, we LOCA group together with Chummy Chum done the feeding outreach at So Young Daycare Center, Smokey Mountain. Smokey Mountain is a large rubbish dump in Manila, Philippines. Consisting of over two million metric tons of waste, it has operated for more than 40 years and is known for decomposing at such high temperatures that it will catch fire, a fact from which the location derives its name. Indeed, fires at Smokey Mountain have caused many deaths. The people living from picking through the rubbish. They are really poor, the kids don’t even have slipper. Their feet always having muddy SPA. Some of them don’t have cloth too.
This So Young Daycare Center is educating 100 kids, from age 4 to 8 years
old. We had a bus with 17 of volunteers and 150 pieces of slippers, 150
pieces of new Polo-T, 150 packs of lunch, a big sack of used clothes. Regardless it
was a great day with the kids especially those volunteers feeding the food and
play the games with the kids. The scene really warm. Volunteering with Charity
Outreach gives you a fresh perspective on life. Let's join us on more
program. May GOD bless you guys always.
