We had visited Philippine Orthopedic Hospital on beginning of July. The Philippine Orthopaedic Association (POA) was formerly known as the Philippine Society for Trauma and Orthopaedics. It is the national organization of orthopaedic surgeons in the Philippines. It is a specialty organization of orthopaedic surgeons who have passed the qualifying and certifying examinations of the Philippine Board of Orthopaedics (PBO). It is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and is a specialty society duly recognized by the Philippine Medical Association and the Philippine College of Surgeons. It is dedicated to excellence in the delivery of orthopaedic patient care, orthopaedic training and medical research. Founded in 1949, it is affiliated with the ASEAN Orthopaedic Association and the Asia-Pacific Orthopaedic Association. It has six chapters nationwide and has ten orthopaedic subspecialty society under its fold.
We had chosen Pediaward which kids suffered by musculo-skeletal afflictions like bone and joint tuberculosis and infections to share our love. The day we went they were around 60 broken leg and arm kids from age 1 to 16 years old. We had 10 volunteers and nevertheless Chummy Chum Foundation was together with us. We purchased 70 sets of Jolibee's Happy Meal to serve the kids and gift which prepared in snacks, biscuits, jellies and chocolate. Aside of this, Miss Khresna and our host Miss Dora also prepared 30 packs of gift to the kids. Appreciated her love and kindness.
We were led by Miss Dora and Miss Khresna to visit all the patients. Both of them did a great job, they were concerning all the kids and communicated with the family. The kids so excited when Chummy Chum was out!
